Sunset Academy vs GESA FC

It was match day 5 of the Dangme Supreme League, and GESA FC played against Sunset Academy in an away game. The match was officiated by Referee Addo Kwei and with her two assistants, Narh Mathias and Akuteye Stephen. GES FC won the toss to kick off the play, of which they loss the possession of the ball few seconds into the game. It was a tough game for both sides as none was able to secure a goal by the end of the first half. The first half was characterized by lots of missed goal opportunities for both teams. Even though it was an away game for the Eagles, they were highly optimistic of winning. Late into the second half, as they both tried out on several chances to secure any winning goal, GESA FC’s top striker and goal scorer Enock Sina Doleh assisted to bring his side a penalty – and ultimate and last minute chance to win the game. The referee awarded the Eagles the penalty through a foul play from Sunset Academy. The penalty was taken by left back Philip MacArthur, but he failed to score as the goal keeper of Sunset was able to save the ball. The entire team, supporters and management of GESA FC shouted at the loss of the penalty in total disappointment. This could only be best described as “a fortune lost at the toss of the coin.” The match ended in a draw as no with one yellow card, and a red card all against Sunset Academy.
