In what could be described as the most awaited and anticipated game, the Eagles have proved beyond reasonable doubt that when it comes to the game of football, they are the champions. It was an epic game, as GESA FC took Easy Battle to the cleaners and wiped them with 3 goals to 1. This was the last game for both teams in the Dangme Supreme League season 2, after it was postponed from an earlier date to this day.
The match started on the usual time of 15:00 GMT on the Ayetepah school park, which saw lots of supporters and spectators from all neighbouring communities to enjoy the game. GESA FC won the toss to kick-start the game. Within just two minutes into the game, Easy Battle scored the first goal of the game to get ahead of the Eagles. With high hopes and optimism, the Eagles’ supporters and management members present believed the match will still end in their favour. After about three minutes later, Enock Sina Doleh, GESA FC’s top striker dribbled two defenders in the goal area of Easy Battle to give an assist to Francis Tawiah Labi who beautifully scored the first goal for GESA FC to equalise the score in the game. There came massive jubilation from the camp of the Eagles, with their morals now boosted to stand firm in the game. The game continued and the players from both sides tried their best to get a leading goal against each other. With more than half of the first-half played, Clement Teye Odonkor from GESA FC then gave an assist through a long pass to Enock Sina Doleh who defeated Easy Battle’s defender to score the goal keeper to put his side ahead. Few mminutes later the referee blew his whistle to bring the first-half of the game to an end, with a score line of 2:1 in favour of the Eagles. The first-half was characterised by epic performance in play and possession from the Eagle boys.
The third goal of the game came deep into the second-half and was scored again by Enock Sina Doleh and assiated by Narh Teteh who gave a long high shot which landed in front of his striker. Sina upon receiving the ball through outrunning the defender did not want to waste time, as the goal keeper was also fast approaching to catch the ball. He quickly scored by raising the ball high above the keeper into the goal post. The supporters of GESA FC could not hide their excitement and gave out massive jubilation to celebrate their third goal. There were lots of other goal opportunities for both sides which couldn’t materialized. GESA FC was very much incredible and was on top of the game, and that earned them their victory over their rivals. Easy Battle lost one man on the pitch to make them ten men against GESA FC through a double yellow card decision by the referee on one of their players. The match ended 3:1 in favour of GESA FC as the referee finally blew his whistle to end the game. Eagles were very much happy for winning this particular match which further cemented their top position on the league table. The match was officiated by Referee Richard and assisted on the line by Addo Kwei and Kortey.
